What's Seussical really about?
About believing anything is possible. All that you imagine can become true.
Who are you in the play? What did you learn from your character?
I'm a Wickersham. It's a monkey based character, but we play as humans with monkey qualities.
As a Wickersham I'm teasing Horton, the lead. At the beginning it was kind of aggresive, but then I learned that when you tease someone so much it's because you are interested in him and even will miss him if not present.
Learned anything from the play?
People may think you are crazy because you follow your heart, but at the end you have to be loyal to yourself and you will succeed.
What's the audience saying?
Wow. They are really loving it. After the show we get to sign lots of autographs and take pictures with them.
It's so so nice to feel we are making people happy.
Did you put much of yourself into the character?
Well. I'm pretty mischievous too, and I love teasing, so I guess it suits me well. I filled it up with tons and tons of awkwardness. That's what choreographer Mss. Edna Vida loved the most, hahaha.
How was the rehearsing process?
Two months and a half singing and dancing like crazy. It has been super important for me as a performer, because I realized I can dance much more than I thought I could. I'm proud of my evolution in rehearsals.
Also I was the new guy who came from Spain to Repertory Philippines, so I had to prove what I could do.
As the lyrics say... Is anything possible?
I really believe it. Wonderful things happen in my life constantly and I believe it's because of positive thinking.
