hey theatre friends! happy new year! if we haven’t met before, Hi! My name is Kat, I really like musicals, and this past year there were no musicals. When quarantine hit and it became clear that it was going to last longer than a couple weeks, I had a odd response. I completely stopped listening to show tunes. Like, entirely. I just had no interest, and when I tried, I would either get really sad or start panicking about when #Broadway would reopen. So I stopped. I took a few months off— really until July with Hamilton on Disney+ then theatre started trickling back into my life. Because it’s been such a brief and busy time, I know exactly which albums I’ve listened to in 2020. And I think a person’s music choice can say a lot about them.
