Nick Rashad Burroughs, who recently assumed the role of Ike Turner in the Tony-nominated Tina—The Tina Turner Musical, celebrates his debut album with the concert Groove Machine Live at The Cutting Room on February 7 at 8PM. Ahead of his show, he stopped by the Playbill Studio for an exclusive performance of his single “Tonight” in the video above.
Groove Machine Live will feature the singles "Tonight" and "Crazy" from Burrough’s debut album Groove Machine. The concert is directed by Zhailon Levingston, with music direction by Michael O. Mitchell (Motown: The Musical, MJ: The Musical), and is executive produced by Tim Norman.
Burroughs, who has also been seen on Broadway in Kinky Boots and King Kong and in the national tour of Something Rotten!, released his album Groove Machine in 2021.
